Costa Mesa, Calif. (2 March 2015) – TruSpeed Autosport is pleased to announce that Sloan Urry will join the team as the young charger targets a championship campaign in the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup presented by MOMO.
The effort will see the No. 02 Porsche GT3 Cup entry supported by SecurityNational Mortgage (http://www.snmc.com) and Engel & Völkers (http://parkcity.evusa.com)
SecurityNational Mortgage (SNMC) is a publicly traded company (SNFCA – NASDAQ) and one of the fastest growing subsidiaries of the Security National family. Engel & Völkers is one of the world’s leading service companies specialized in the sale and rental of premium residential property, commercial real estate and yachts.
Urry, 22, will build on his strong 2014 efforts racing in the Porsche ranks as he looks to bring that competitive momentum to the World Challenge campaign. Despite having only begun his racing career in 2010, Urry arrives to the team with an abundance of Porsche experience including showing himself to be a winner in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama ranks in 2014, earning him the honor of being selected to attend the Porsche Young Driver Academy over the off-season.
“This is a great opportunity for me to run with a strong team like TruSpeed and I am grateful that SecurityNational Mortgage and Engel & Völkers have come on board to make it happen,” said Urry. “I’m very excited about racing a Porsche again and World Challenge will be a great show this year. Hopefully we can be a threat all year long and deliver some strong results.”
“Sloan has shown incredible promise and we are proud to be a part of his 2015 program with TruSpeed,” said Engel & Völkers’ Park City based International Marketing Director Michael Shehan. “With live streaming and a new television package, as well as an incredible schedule all around the continent, World Challenge has a very big season ahead and we are looking forward to activating this marketing program with TruSpeed this year.”
The 2015 program marks a sort of homecoming for Urry, who already has two seasons under his belt as a TruSpeed Autosport driver in both Pirelli Cup Trophy and IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge competition.
“It is fantastic to have Sloan back with us—he’s a big talent and also a great guy—a smart young man who I think has a very promising future,” said TruSpeed Autosport team owner Tyler Tadevic. “He has had some good opportunities to race with some other teams the past two years, and I am sure those experiences will make him an even bigger asset to us. I am happy to have him back under our tent and we are all really looking forward to this season, hopefully it is really productive both on and off the track.”
TruSpeed and Urry will kick off their 2015 Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup campaign at Circuit of the Americas on March 7 and 8 with Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2015 Championship.
